“My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature.” ― Claude Monet

The Seasons

Watching Winter

The virgin snow that falls atop the ground
Entombs the tears that autumn sheds today.
I'll miss the sight of leaves that flit around
And watch them dance as one in a ballet.
I will observe as winter spreads her gown
And marvel at the beauty she displays.
The softness of her touch, like fluffy down,
Will make me share with her my grateful gaze.
Although I have no love for winter's stay,
I do esteem the beauty she can bring.
And so I calmly stand and watch her play
While longing for the days of early spring.
She'll clothe the land with garb of her design,
But spring will be the one for whom I pine.

Behind the Verse

As winter's chill sets in, a sense of melancholy falls over me. But amidst the snow and cold I see and feel, beauty still abounds. In my quiet contemplation, I find solace in the fleeting beauty of winter, even as I long for the warmth and vitality of spring.
