“My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature.” ― Claude Monet

The Seasons

Seasons

O, stunning fall of saffron gowns
And amber shawls beyond compare!
You grace the leaves with reds and browns,
The tears you'll shed at winter's glare.

Your works of art will turn to blight
When winter starts her early dance.
Her frosty gown of downy white
Will coat and shroud the land's expanse.

Yet winter's spree will have to cede
To blooms that rise with warmer days,
For snowy gowns cannot impede
The seeds that raise their arms in praise.

Then at the close of fragrant spring,
When flowers clothe the gleeful land,
Elated summer yearns to bring
Her gown of jade and ocean sand.

Behind the Verse

The seasons are adorned with amazing beauty. They offer joy to those who like the seasonal changes. With this poem, I convey this idea using rich imagery, describing the unrelenting yet beautiful cycle of the seasons by personifying each one and briefly highlighting their individual presence. They are a true masterpiece and a blessing from the Creator.
