“My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature.” ― Claude Monet

The Seasons

Dance of The Maple Seed

It is their dance that holds my gaze,
These ballerinas' dazzling ways.
They float and whirl to reach the ground
With arms toward the sky in praise.

The breeze that plays this autumn day
Will hold their hands in their ballet.
It is a pageant I enjoy
While leafy trees with colors sway.

I am aware that they intrude
On perfect lawns with weeds subdued.
But I've enjoyed their graceful dance
A dance I view with gratitude.

I then depart the stately hall
As evening spreads her sable shawl,
But not before the maple seeds
Have shared a graceful day of fall.
