And Heaven Cried

Fertile fields, once full of pride,
Die of thirst; the lands have dried.
Bare, undressed, no verdant grass;
Clouds of rain above them pass.

Others come from far away;
Silent prayers, the valleys send.
Bursts of tears were shed today;
Heaven cried, the land to mend.
