Love & Romance

Glowing Flame

My love for you is like a flame
 That burns atop a candle’s frame.
The colors blaze intensely bright,
 And yet their hue is not the same.

The hue of red, like passion, reigns,
 But orange gleams like golden manes.
And yellow shines like sunny days,
 But still, one hotter hue remains.

It joins the rest as searing blue;
 It is the hottest hue in view.
It glows within the steady flame—
 Just like the love I have for you.

Behind the Verse

Red = Passion
Orange = Optimism
Yellow = Happiness
Blue = Loyalty And Trust

Within a marriage, love is expressed in many ways. It can be passionate; it focuses on the positive rather than the negative; it is joyous and cheerful; and most of all, it is loyal and trusting.

In this poem, I aimed to illustrate that love is akin to a candle's flame, which displays various colors, each with its intensity. The blue at the flame's inner core represents the hottest part of the flame.
