Potpourri

Coffee And Cream

When dawn arrives and wakes me up,
The nesting birds begin to sing,
And I prepare a single cup
Of earthy fuel, the perfect thing.

It is a marriage I perform,
A blend of two delicious things:
One sweetened part in liquid form
And one that's sought by serfs and kings.

The merger blends the dancing pair
As I observe the rising steam.
A rich bouquet then fills the air,
Produced by this united team.

The blissful scent renews my joy
When I pick up the cup of steam.
My eyes then close as I enjoy
A taste of coffee mixed with cream.
