“Seek Jehovah, all you meek ones!” ― Zephaniah 2:3

Enduring Faith

Doomsday Clock

The doomsday clock was made so man may cope;
It was designed to show who's in control.
Their brazen claims have led to ebbing hope,
For they have not discerned the Kingdom's role.
Their clock has ticked while men of hatred blaze;
They have ignored all urgent calls for peace.
They strive to mime the sun's consuming gaze;
Now many fear that life on Earth could cease.
But soon, their hate and virulence will end,
And those who worship war will be no more.
A promised dawn of lasting peace will mend
The hearts of all upon whom blessings pour.
The answer does not lie with foolish men,
 Where hatred dwells and multiplies by ten.

Behind the Verse

Despair and hope in the face of human conflict are what I attempt to capture with this poem, particularly as it centers around the ominous concept of the "doomsday clock," which to many symbolizes impending catastrophe as a result of mankind's choices.

To many people, the world appears to be heading toward disaster. They may be unaware of or have ignored the Bible's promise of real hope for renewal and peace through God's Kingdom, which will end war and fearmongering.
