“Seek Jehovah, all you meek ones!” ― Zephaniah 2:3

Enduring Faith

God's Love

What measure can I use, O God,
To understand the love I see?
Is there a way for me to know?
Truly, can this be known to me?

Is it from East to West, O God,
Where neither meets nor ever will?
Is its length from here to the stars?
Or is it hidden from me still?

Is it the universe, O God,
That will unveil its greatest depth?
From edge to edge, can that be it?
What, O God, is its measured breadth?

I am in constant awe, O God,
For not even the universe
Can measure the depth of your love,
Nor could an endless line of verse.

I'll always sing to you, O God,
To praise the boundless love you showed
With the sacrifice of your son
To settle the debt that we owed.

Behind the Verse

Can we fully comprehend the vastness of God’s love? With this poem, I consider Jehovah's foremost attribute: love. It is immeasurable; even the entire universe cannot quantify its infinite depth. I did not write the lines in strict metrical feet, but I have tried to ensure a regular syllabic pattern to create a steady rhythm that would be appropriate for a reflective and devotional poem.
